The Bermuda Triangle, also known as the Devil's Triangle, is a region of the northwestern Atlantic Ocean in which a number of aircraft and surface vessels have disappeared or are alleged to have disappeared. Some people have claimed that these disappearances fall beyond the boundaries of human error or acts of nature. Popular culture has attributed some of these disappearances to the paranormal, a suspension of the laws of physics, or activity by extraterrestrial beings. Though a substantial body of documentation exists showing numerous incidents to have been inaccurately reported or embellished by later authors, and numerous official agencies have gone on record as stating the number and nature of disappearances to be similar to any other area of ocean, many have remained unexplained despite considerable investigation. The boundaries of the Triangle vary with the author; some stating its shape is akin to a trapezoid covering the Straits of Florida, the Bahamas and the entire Caribbean island area and the Atlantic east to the Azores; others add to it the Gulf of Mexico. The more familiar, triangular boundary in most written works has as its points somewhere on the Atlantic coast of Florida; San Juan, Puerto Rico; and the mid-Atlantic island of Bermuda, with most of the accidents concentrated along the southern boundary around the Bahamas and the Florida Straits. Cruise ships are also plentiful, and pleasure craft regularly go back and forth between Florida and the islands. The Gulf Stream ocean current flows through the Triangle after leaving the Gulf of Mexico; its current of five to six knots may have played a part in a number of disappearances. Sudden storms can and do appear, and in the summer to late fall hurricanes strike the area. The combination of heavy maritime traffic and tempestuous weather makes it inevitable that vessels could founder in storms and be lost without a trace – especially before improved telecommunications, radar and satellite technology arrived late in the 20th century. According to the Triangle authors, Christopher Columbus was the first person to document something strange in the Triangle, reporting that he and his crew observed "strange dancing lights on the horizon", flames in the sky, and at another point he wrote in his log about bizarre compass bearings in the area. From his log book, dated October 11, 1492 he wrote: "The land was first seen by a sailor (Rodrigo de Triana), although the Admiral at ten o'clock that evening standing on the quarter-deck saw a light, but so small a body that he could not affirm it to be land; calling to Pero Gutiérrez, groom of the King's wardrobe, he told him he saw a light, and bid him look that way, which he did and saw it; he did the same to Rodrigo Sánchez of Segovia, whom the King and Queen had sent with the squadron as comptroller, but he was unable to see it from his situation. The Admiral again perceived it once or twice, appearing like the light of a wax candle moving up and down, which some thought an indication of land. But the Admiral held it for certain that land was near..."

A warm smile is the universal language of kindness. Smile because God gave human this beautiful gift – A smile ……. I sometimes wonder to animals have this beautiful gift of something? Valentine's Day is one of our favorite holidays. Actually it is right behind Christmas. It is a day that we Celebrate our love for one another, and God's love for us. In the Bible John 15: 13 reads "Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends" And that is just what St. Valentine did. St. Valentine was a priest near Rome in about the year 270 A.D. At that time the Roman Emperor was imprisoning Christians for not worshipping the Roman gods. During this persecution Valentine was arrested. Some write that he was arrested because he was performing Christian marriages, but others say it was for helping Christians escape prison. During the trial they asked Valentine what he thought of the Roman gods Jupiter and Mercury. Valentine said they were false gods and that the God that Jesus called Father was the only true God. So the Romans threw him in prison for insulting the gods. While in prison Valentine continued to minister. He witnessed to the guards. One of the guards was a good man who had adopted a blind girl. He asked Valentine if his God could help his daughter. Valentine prayed and the girl was given her sight. The guard and his whole family, 46 people, believed in Jesus and were baptized. Because these people had come to know Jesus, Valentine praised God right there in his prison cell. When the emperor heard about this he was furious that Valentine was still making converts even in prison, so he had Valentine beheaded. Valentine knew that he might get caught in his Christian activities. He knew that if he told the court the truth about the Roman gods that he would be thrown in prison. And he knew that if he continued to witness to Christ in the prison he would make his captors angry. But he continued, because he loved the Lord and his fellow humans. He was willing to risk his life to free the prisoners and spread the Good News of Jesus Christ to those who needed to hear it. The Bible Says: "No one has greater love than this, to lay down one's life for one's friends."(John 15:13) God showed us this love by coming in Christ to die for our sins. And St. Valentine demonstrated this love when he died for his friends. This is the kind of love that Valentine's Day is really about.

Did you know Persians had a day devoted to love called “ Esfandgan-Mazdegan ”. You can trace it’s roots back to more than 1700 years B.C. It’s on Feb 18th which according to Iranian solar calendar is 21th of Bahman . Esfandgan : A feast devoted to women and mothers . The Esfandgan Feast, and was celebrated on Sepandarmazd . Day in Esfand , the last month of winter ; in recognition of the high and admired status of mothers for devotion of their self-less love .Women were commemorated during the whole month , and especially on this very day .It is regarded as one of the oldest traditions of its kind in Iranian ancient culture . According to the Zoroastrianism ( Iranian’s religion at the time ), the day belonged to the Amesha Spenta Spandarmaz ,the guardian of the earth in the material world and the symbol of love and humility . During this special day , all the household chores and responsibilities were left to men. The men were also supposed to present gifts to their wives. To mark the day , the family would wake up early , clean the house , and celebrate the day by cooking a very special and delicious food called “aash” (a kind of vegetable soup), to be served along with a special Zoroastrian bread . The ‘Esfandgan’ Festival , an Iranian Day for Women . According to our solar calendar there were 30 days in each month ; and each day was named after a month’s name or some other religious name and so there existed thirty names. Thus in each month, there was a day which had the same name as that of the month’s. Whenever the name of the day and the month coincided, they called for a celebration. Following are the name of the twelve months of the year and the days that were named after each : Farvardingan (19th day of of each month was named Farvardin) · Ordibeheshtgan (3rd day of each month was named Ordibehesht) · Khordadgan (6th day of of each month was named Khordad) · Tirgan ( 13th day of of each month was named Tir ) · Mordadgan (7th day of of each month was named Mordad) · Shahrivargan (4th day of of each month was named Shahrivar ) · Mehr (16th day of of each month was named Mehr) · Aban (10th day of of each month was named Aban) · Azar (on Azar 9th day of of each month was named Azar) · Dey(1st day of of each month was named Dey) · Bahman (2nd day of of each month was named Bahman) · Esfand (5th day of of each month was named Esfand) Today’s calendar is a little bit different from that of the old days . The days are not named any more and there is a slight change in the number of the days in each month . The months names’ are kept the same, though. Some forces of the nature were named after the months’ names as well . For example Aban ,the guardian of water was named after the second month of Fall. Azar , the guardian of fire was named after the third month of Fall. Bahman , the guardian of good thoughts was named after the second month Winter. Esfand , the guardian of the Earth and plants, was named after the third month of winter.
